Duty Manager - Paradise Centre (Part-time)

We're looking for a Duty Manager to join our Paradise Centre team on a part-time basis working three days per week covering Friday evening shifts and weekends, including public holidays.


Paradise Centre is the largest shopping centre in Surfers Paradise, strategically positioned in the heart of Australia’s leading tourist destination with frontages to Cavill Mall, Surfers Paradise Boulevard and the Esplanade, and overlooking the world renowned Surfers Paradise Beach. The centre is anchored by Woolworths and 71 specialty retailers, with a unique mix of retail, restaurants, cafes, entertainment and services. The Paradise Centre is a premier shopping, dining and entertainment destination for Surfers Paradise, designed to cater to the needs of domestic and international tourists as well as Gold Coast residents.


In this role, you will manage emergency situations, retailer and customer liaison and overall customer service in order to maximise Centre presentation and ensure customer satisfaction, you will also assist with contractors and operational requirements.


Key responsibilities include:

  • Overall management of the shopping centre in the absence of other centre management team members during weekends,  evening trade and public holidays
  • Management and resolution of conflict or issues that may arise
  • Accurate maintenance of risk, compliance and incident reporting using MS Office suite and building management systems
  • Manage emergency and crisis situations and follow the appropriate escalation procedures


To be considered for this role you will have previous experience within an operational and have excellent negotiation skills with regards to conflict resolution coupled with contractor management skills. A demonstrated understanding of safety, health and environmental management is a must. This role is critical to the effective operation of the centre in managing risk whilst ensuring a high customer experience is maintained at all times.
