Our Northland Centre is currently seeking a Retail Manager to join the team for a fixed-term, 6-month period to develop and manage retailer engagement strategies aimed at maximising the net property income and asset valuation of the centre.
Northland Shopping Centre is a major regional shopping centre located approximately 9km north of Melbourne's CBD. Anchored by Myer, Kmart, Target, Coles, Woolworths, Toys "R" Us as well as Rebel Sport, JB Hi-Fi, Hoyts Cinemas, and more than 250 retailers. The centre's premium retail mix including Mecca Maxima which caters to a growing family and youth demographic is complimented by a popular outdoor entertainment and dining precinct. The precinct includes six restaurants, a Goodlife Health Club, and an architecturally-designed canopy and state-of-the-art ambient lighting.
As Retail Manager, your key responsibilities will include:
- Maintaining and managing positive relations with all retailers, in addition to building relationships with customers, suppliers, local government and other important stakeholders
- Contribution to the community including meeting, consulting and supporting local Council and other local groups on community matters and joint / cooperative activities
- Planning, budgeting and reporting
- Regular formal and informal retailer meetings, including debt collection
To be successful in this role you will have experience in a similar role within shopping centres, be highly competent at building relationships across all levels including national retailers and sole operators alike and have strong financial budgeting and reporting skills. Your exceptional customer service skills coupled with your ability to deliver and follow through on requests, along with taking ownership of projects will ensure your success in this role.
We expect our Retail Managers to present with a working knowledge of retail legislation, leases and retail fundamentals, but above all else, have a positive attitude and an openness to learning and continuous improvement.
